About This Site

What Aussie Migration Guide Is

We are an independent Australian immigration information platform. Our guides cover Australian visa pathways, skilled migration, employer sponsorship, partner visas, student visas, refusals and appeals. Our readers are real visa applicants, many of them at a critical point in their migration journey.

We are not a migration agency and we do not provide immigration advice. Everything published here is general information only. Under the Migration Act 1958, only MARA-registered migration agents and lawyers holding an unrestricted practising certificate may give immigration assistance in Australia. That line applies to all content on this platform, including content submitted by contributors.

Topics

What We Accept

We accept well-researched, original content that is directly relevant to Australian immigration, visa pathways, or the experience of living and working in Australia. Topics include:

  • Australian visa subclasses - skilled, employer sponsored, partner, student, visitor, parent
  • PR pathways and points-tested migration (189, 190, 491, 186)
  • Visa refusals, appeals, and the ART process
  • Skills assessments, occupation lists, and ANZSCO changes
  • State and territory nomination programs
  • Cost of living, settlement, and life in Australia for new migrants
  • Policy changes and Department of Home Affairs updates
  • Employer sponsorship - obligations, eligibility, and processes

Exclusions

What We Do Not Accept

Topics we do not publish under any circumstances: gambling, betting, casino, adult content, payday loans, crypto, forex, pharmaceutical or health products, academic essay writing services, and any topic unrelated to Australian immigration or life in Australia.

We also do not accept:

  • Content that constitutes immigration advice or claims to advise readers on their specific visa situation
  • Content written by, or primarily promoting, an unregistered individual offering immigration assistance
  • Thin articles rewritten from other sources or padded to a word count
  • AI-generated or AI-spun content submitted without meaningful human expertise and editing
  • Content published or substantially reproduced elsewhere
  • Articles built primarily around a link rather than around a genuine topic
  • Requests to insert links into articles already published on our site
  • Content that makes specific claims about visa fees, processing times, or eligibility without citing official sources

Who Can Contribute

Contributor Standards

Because we publish in a high-stakes niche, we take contributor credibility seriously. We give priority to pitches from people who can demonstrate relevant expertise. This includes:

  • MARA-registered migration agents or immigration lawyers (registration verifiable on OMARA)
  • SEO, content, or digital marketing professionals writing on settlement, life in Australia, or industry topics - not on visa advice
  • Academics or researchers working in migration, policy, or related fields
  • Experienced migrants writing from a first-hand perspective on settlement and life in Australia
  • Journalists or writers with a demonstrated track record in immigration reporting

We ask all contributors to include a brief bio and a link to their professional profile or relevant published work. We may ask to verify credentials before publishing. Anonymous submissions are not accepted.

Editorial Standards

Content Requirements

All submitted content must meet the following standards before we will consider it for publication:

  • Minimum 900 words. Longer, more comprehensive pieces are preferred.
  • All factual claims about visa fees, processing times, eligibility criteria, or policy must be sourced from official Department of Home Affairs publications or legislation. We verify these before publication.
  • Must include a disclaimer where relevant that the content is general information only and does not constitute immigration advice
  • Written in clear, plain English. Accessible to a reader who is not a migration professional.
  • Not published, submitted, or substantially reproduced elsewhere
  • Free from plagiarism - we check all submissions
  • No more than two contextual outbound links per article, including any sponsored link
  • All links must point to legitimate, live, and relevant websites
Our editorial team reviews every submission. Our full standards are set out in our Editorial Policy. We may edit for clarity, accuracy, tone, and formatting. We may remove or modify any claim that cannot be verified against an official source. Publication is never guaranteed, including for paid placements, if the content does not meet our standards after editing.

Links

Link Policy

We are transparent about how links work on this site because it matters for both our readers and our standing with search engines.

  • Links in standard guest articles are tagged rel="nofollow" by default
  • Sponsored placements include one dofollow link, clearly disclosed as sponsored content
  • We do not sell links hidden within editorial content or within articles not labelled as sponsored
  • All sponsored content carries a visible "Sponsored" label at the top of the article, consistent with our Advertising Disclosure
  • We do not accept requests to add links to existing published articles
  • Link targets must be relevant to the article topic and must not be in an excluded niche

Publishing Fees

Sponsored Placement Rates

We accept a limited number of sponsored placements per month. All sponsored content is clearly labelled and must meet our editorial standards. Rates are for content that passes our review - we do not charge for articles we decline.

Getting Started

How to Submit a Pitch

Send your pitch to aussiemigrationguide@gmail.com with the subject line "Guest Contributor" or "Sponsored Placement". Pitches missing the required information below are not considered.

1
Your proposed article topic and working title
One paragraph explaining what the article covers and why it is useful to someone navigating an Australian visa. Vague pitches ("I want to write about skilled migration") are declined.
2
Your name, bio, and professional link
Include a link to your LinkedIn profile, OMARA registration, published work, or any other evidence of relevant expertise. Anonymous pitches are not accepted.
3
The URL you want to link to (if sponsored)
We review the target site before accepting any placement. Links to sites in excluded niches will not be approved regardless of fee.
4
State whether it is a guest article or a sponsored placement
This determines the link type and whether a fee applies. Be upfront - we will identify paid intent regardless.

We aim to respond to pitches within 5 business days. If you do not hear back within that time, your pitch was likely not a fit. We do not provide detailed rejection feedback for unsolicited pitches.

Editorial Process

Rights, Editing, and Removal

  • By submitting content, you confirm it is your original work, not published elsewhere, and free from plagiarism
  • We reserve the right to edit any submission for accuracy, clarity, formatting, length, and compliance with our editorial policy
  • We may remove or update any article if it contains factual errors, if official policy has changed, or if it no longer meets our standards
  • If a sponsored article is removed for policy or accuracy reasons, the link fee is not refunded after the article has been live for 30 days
  • We do not transfer ownership of published content. Content published on Aussie Migration Guide remains on our domain.
  • We do not accept content that has been published elsewhere. Duplicate content will be declined and, if discovered after publication, removed without refund.
